"Infinity Falls" ~2013
Acrylic on Canvas, 33x43 in.

Here is one of the first paintings I have done in 2013. This is part of a series of paintings I have done for an upcoming art show. With the paintings I did before the New Year, this one brings the count up to 11.

To see more of the series and see more of the art that I do, you can follow my artwork on Facebook through this link: https:/www.facebook.com/ChristopherHoganArtwork

Thanks! Now that I have done more in this black and white style, I need to make another large waterfall one (but I think I will add more "falls" to the falls, lol) :D

Thanks again, appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment!

Thanks :)

This one is so huge I can barely even get it in and out of my place, lol. Sometimes I do wish I could just jump inside of one of my paintings, what about you? :D

That really would be nice, now that I think about it!
It would have to be a painting of Florida though!

Thanks! Been on a grey scale kick lately. I guess it develops the tonal work for any piece. I was even thinking about glazing a few of these with color but was not sure if it would ruin the composition of the piece, might still try anyway. If something doesn't work it is not really a failure but a nice learning experience!! :)

hmmm, l left a comment but l think it disappeared into the ether!!

I love grey scale work, but sometimes l like to mix it us a little and do a 3 colour scale piece, like a red/orange/yellow or a green/blue/purple. That was l get to play with colour but not potentially ruin a terrific grey scale piece with some colour ( sometimes less is ore hahaha) just an idea you might like if you want to play with colours :-)

l loved doing grey scale work....but definitely don't add colour! hahaha if you want to do colour, l always like doing a 3 colour scale piece, like a red orange yellow or a blue green purple one. just an idea for playing with colour rather than adding it to something already done and ruining the piece ( sometimes less is more hahaha)

This piece will definitely stay grey scale, but you said the colors of the next piece; red, yellow, and orange! I wanted to give the new one a fall or autumn look. I need to kick the grey scale habit to venture into other creations :) Although I will still do more of these because I feel that it leaves the season up to the viewers imagination. Adding the color can really set a specific mood which is also good; so much to do with creativity!!

Thanks! I ended up getting inspired by the snow outside here and did a (semi) similar scene in monochromatic blues. I still will get the red/orange/yellow one done, want to try and have the sun setting through the trees to make a waterfall/pond/lake (LOL) have highlights of the same colors. Only time will see!! Thanks again~

Thank you! I didn't realize that JRR Tolkien also did artwork, but I looked some up and makes your comment even more appreciated!! Talk about creating some inspiration for me :)

I do it all the time also! If it makes you feel better, I got a good laugh. I could have commented on both of them without realizing at first!! I do have most of the collection on my Facebook page, if interested in seeing them before I actually get around to posting them here, the page info is htts:/www.facebook.com/ChristopherHoganArtwork

Thanks again :)
